Today is our 8th Wedding Anniversary!
by Princess Daisy Boo inso 8 years ago this time, i was running around in a mad rush - hairdressers and make up and flowers and so on.
the wedding was gorgeous.
somehow, by some miracle, we managed not to totally piss off either of our families (nic - of a catholic/anglican background and me of a jw background).

So 8 years ago this time, I was running around in a mad rush - hairdressers and make up and flowers and so on.
The wedding was gorgeous.
Somehow, by some miracle, we managed not to totally piss off either of our families (Nic - of a catholic/anglican background and me of a JW background).
My parents would have been happy if we had done it in a court (let's face it, they weren't too charmed that I was getting married) and Nic's mom wanted a traditional church wedding, but I guess all things considered, it went off pretty well. We had a totally neutral ceremony at a beautiful club in the centre of the city and Nic's uncle, a magistrate, did the legal bit.
The reception was fantastic, we partied hard and were the last to leave! We got to our hotel in the wee hours of the morning and we were starving - we realised that we had hardly eaten a thing at the wedding what with all the nerves, greetings an dancing.
And now, 8 years later, we are still happy. We have had two babies, bought and sold houses, had some fights and tears but more importamtly lots of laughs and smiles and cuddles.
The funny part... my dub sister sent me a text message at 5:57 am wishing us a happy anniversary but did not call me once last year for my birthday - go figure!

NEW TRACT CAMPAIGN PLANNED....
by sir82 in....for october 20 - november 16.. there is a new tract to be introduced, with the title "do you want to know the truth?".
it is not a "kingdom news" campaign - after the campaign, this tract will join the "regular rotation" of tracts to be used in the field misery.. it is designed to replace the "do you want to know more about the bible" tract - the goal is to use it to start "bible" studies.. the goal is to cover all of the congregation's territory in 4 weeks, similar to other campaigns in the past.
unlike other campaigns, though, the congregations can order as many as they would like - they are not limited to 50 per publisher.

Knocking on the Doors of Classmates out in service
by new light incould anything have been more embarrassing?
you could be at the door of the least popular munger in school, but overwhelmed with envy because, hey, at least he was doing something normal.
in 8th grade, at the peak of childhood self-consciousness, i knocked on the door of a super popular, rich, "in" kid from my class and he answered the door.

Worst Nightmare - that is all I can say. Luckily, in highschool, my school and our FS territory fell into different areas so the chances were not as huge as they could have been. When it did happen, I remember wishing more than life itself that I could disappear into the ground.
Loved Tired's story! LOL
And someone commented on the self esteem issue and I believe that that is a very valid point!

Hey Lou
It must be a Saffa thing - I have eaten all of those things too (except for the fish roe).
Mopani worms are just stupid - crunchy and gross! Also eaten Shark Biltong (eeeeugh!!!) (Biltong is dried meat - do you get that in the USA or UK or Oz?)
Ostrich is quite nice, especiallu in a "potjie" (a stew cooked in a pot over an fire for hours and hours)

Do you like yourslef?
by R.Crusoe ini find this question another i hate to think of!!.
i view myself through others which is a reality of zilch so it is bad karma for me to consider it!.
maybe its circumstantial of many life events but i'll bet exjws feel the power of the above dynamic as a negative force for humanitarian ectics and personal self worth!
